Kate Helfrich, PTA, EP-C

President, Merge Fitness, LLC

Physical Therapist Assistant
Certified Exercise Physiologist, ACSM

About Kate...

Kate began her career in 2008 after graduating from Penn State University with her Associate's degree from the Physical Therapist Assistant program. She went on to practice in an outpatient orthopedic and sub-acute long term care settings, getting the opportunity to treat a variety of people and diagnoses. About 6 years into the profession, Kate began to feel that something was missing from her career, a pull towards more proactive, patient-focused care. She decided to further her education and graduated in 2016 from East Stroudsburg University with her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. After passing the exam to become a Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C), Kate created Merge Fitness, LLC with the hopes to provide equal opportunity to clients of all ability levels for improving their health, fitness and overall quality of life.

Kate has a heart for compassionate care that breaks through preconceived boundaries when it comes to fitness. Through innovation and creativity, she is able to create unique and individualized fitness programs that help clients achieve sustainable, achievable goals while remaining safe and realistic.

Kate is married to the tallest guy she knows! Her and her husband love spending time outside, cooking all sorts of tasty dishes and traveling. They also have a sport fishing bucket list!

Courtney Petaccio, CPT

Certified Personal Trainer, ACSM

About Courtney...

Six years ago Court began her fitness journey, but had a tough time finding a “role model” that was down to earth and someone that she could relate to as she attempted to improve her strength. As she progressed physically as well as mentally, her passion for fitness and health ignited and now her goal is to be that role model for others that she had been looking for.

Court's passion for working out quickly grew into a desire to show people their potential to be a stronger, better version of the person they were yesterday. She went to college to complete her Associate’s Degree in Exercise Science and upon completion of the program, became a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. Court remains motivated to further advance her skills and knowledge through continuing education.

Since becoming certified, she has worked in a Physical Therapy clinic for nearly 2 years and has gained the knowledge of working with all types of populations; geriatrics, pre/post-op, post stroke, hypertension, and more. Having experience with a variety of client populations has fanned Court's flame even more to prove to her clients, and to the rest of the world watching, that fitness IS for ALL abilities.
